Digital Painting in @procreate

At first glance this one looks pretty simple, but it's extremely detailed. I didn't need to go into that much detail, in fact the details will never be seen on the small format of a 330ml can label, but I wanted to.

Some illustrations become a labour of love - getting into the swing of drawing becomes somewhat of a meditation, and I really enjoyed making this one so intricate, even if most people will never see it.

The reel you've been waiting for!

All finished up on painting the Hoyland Common Primary School STEM Learning Room Mural!

It's been a lovely project to work on, I'm excited to see what they think of it.

I'll leave this to fully dry then coat with a mural varnish (which will boost the colour saturation a little and keep the mural protected from spills and scuffs and make it easy to keep looking as good).

I've added a photo of myself at the end here for scale, to give you an idea how big the robot is. I'm 6'2" !

Back on with the Hoyland Common Primary School STEM Learning Room Mural.

A little 24k gold foil today, a gold tooth, some cogs and a ♥️ armband on the robot, and a silver tooth on the skull and cross bones science 🧪 flask.

Then some more line work.

One more day I reckon to finish, then get it sealed with a coat of varnish so it can be cleaned down easily.

I started a new Mural Project this morning at a local School. Hoyland Common Primary school and their STEM room with ideas used from the Children's mood board.

Most of it is pencilled in and ready to move a bit of furniture to start to paint on Friday morning!

Work in progress.

When I was a kid I was a massive #Warhammer fan. I always loved the illustrations/artwork in #whitedwarfmagazine and they were one of the reasons I first ventured into art at all. However I've never in all my 43 years used any Warhammer stuff as inspiration to make artwork from, which is a bit strange really.

So here's a work in progress sketch that is going to become a mixed media painting (watercolour, inks, gouache, acrylic and a little pastel and coloured pencil)

Realtime work in progress - Gotta get those details in...
This illustration is BIG! Eventually it'll be 6 A0 sheets of paper, hand-drawn, inked, scanned and digitally coloured in Adobe Photoshop. I work with big files at 1200dpi (so the end client can blow the images up to billboard sizes without looking pixelated) it takes a powerful computer and plenty of patience when saving.

This is just three of the six sheets down so far, each will get the same attention to colouring detail once scanned in and stitched on to this artwork.

Dark Saber 14.6% - Aged almost a year in Penderyn Madeira Single Malt Whisky barrels. This is an imperial stout with no post-fermentation additions.

A straight-up stout to let the complexity of the barrel shine through.

At 14.6%, you will have to wield it wisely if you are to rule all of Mandalore.

Here's Honey Bee - Smoked Honey Gose 6% ABV

It was fun illustrating to match Ægir's existing branding whilst putting my own stamp on it.

I'll get some actual photos of the finished cans uploaded soon! Looking on Untapped the metallic finishing looks perfect.
